Grand Opening Celebration / Raku Firing
We have long awaited building our pottery studio, and we are ready to celebrate opening it with all of you! We will start firing pots at 1pm in the afternoon. The Raku process is by far one of the most exciting ways to finish pottery! Guests are invited to purchase pre-made vessels of all sizes and shapes to decorate using various raku glazes, horsehair, or slip for a “naked” look. You can watch as our team brings your piece up to temp in our raku kiln, and places it into a bin where we reduce the oxygen - that’s where the magic happens! Each guest will walk away with their own one of a kind piece of pottery!
Please dress for the weather, as we will be outside for the majority of the day. We do ask that you bring a camp chair so you have a place to sit and watch the live action.
There will be music all day! Here’s our current lineup…
1-3pm Watershed Ramblers / 3:30-5:30pm Tommy Thompson / 6-9pm Janky Limo
Chunky’s Taco Truck will be here with their full menu, and we’ll have a beer garden!
Becca Otis from 5 Lines Pottery and Wheel Talk Podcast will be joining us!
We’re working on a few more details, and will provide further information as we get closer to the event!
Mark your calendars, and plan to celebrate with us - it’s an event you won’t want to miss!
